Our Murals
With the support of Amazon Change X and County of Alameda-District 2, we collaborated with two Hayward schools—Brenkwitz Alternative High School and Lorin Eden Elementary School—to bring this vision to life.
The projects were enthusiastically received by both administrators and students. It was incredibly rewarding to watch students rise to the challenge and take ownership of the creative process. The murals now stand as lasting symbols of what can be accomplished when a community comes together, fostering a sense of belonging, pride, and shared identity within each school.
Our projects aim to foster community through public art by engaging students in the creation of vibrant, meaningful murals that reflect their personal identities and collective values.
Brenkwitz High School, Hayward
At Brenkwitz, students both designed and completed a retro graffiti style lettering, spelling out the school's name. This was backed by small paw prints in various color representing the unique and diverse student body. Individual students created their stories in larger paw prints sprinkled along the foreground.
Lorin Eden Elementary School, Hayward
At Lorin Eden, the mural is based on a Garden theme. In addition to all students participating we had 20 students take the lead in painting the majority of the background and each of these students also created individual stories within the larger mural.
